Hi gang.
Need some help here. Trying to find some load data for the following:

Lapua 105 SC BTHP
Tubb 115 DTAC
Berger 115VLD's

The only info I can find is for the Lapua using Vihtavuori....I would like to use something different.

So how does one go about substituting powder and where to start with powder charge?

Can I use the data for say a 105 Amax for the 105 Lapua and and go off the starting charge and work up?

Any help on this would be great.

Take care,Stan

That's what I did Stan. Still having some problems with my 243. But I have 105 scenars at 40.6 grains with N550 at 2.775" OAL. Also, had the 105 AMAX at 41.5 grains of RL22 at 2.800". Good luck.

Thanks HK.
I have been using Sierra 107 SMK's with RL-19 and getting good results...but I can't find any in stock anywhere. I have 200 Hornady Amax's but when they are gone not sure what I will do. I found the 105 Scenars and Berger 115 VLD's.

I shot at 1000yrds today and there was some guys shooting .308's....I had no idea the .243 did so good at 1K....I used almost HALF the elevation to get to 1K as the guys with .308's. We had 3-7mph winds and I was using 8 moa hold where the .308's were using about 12 moa one guy told me.

So...needless to say...I am sold on the .243 for long range paper punching.

Take care,Stan

For the Dtac I have seen guys running about 42grs of H4350 for 3000fps from 26" barrels. Mine was shipped yesterday and Im staring at my Dtacs and 16lbs of powder

It should, at velocities over 2950 fps. Thats what I've read, anyways. Only way to know is to try it.

A 1:8" twist will generally stabilize the 115gr DTAC as long as you are not shooting at Sea Level in Cold Weather. A 7.75" is the minimum twist to stablize in all general shooting conditions. Velocities in the 2900fps range.

I have done a little load developement with 115 DTAC BN. I have it down to a final shoot off between 47.5grs RL25 & 41.6 grs. RL17. All testing was done with Lapua brass & Russian primers. Both of these loads shoot very well, almost a toss up. My final test will be 20 shot groups at both 200 & 400 yards to pick the final winner.

If you have the twist to handle it, (which it seems you do), shoot the 115 DTAC's. I have a 27" barrel and use H4350. The accuracy is phenominal. Start at 40gr's and work up.

I find my best with 115 DTACS at 46.7 gr of RL25. 26 inch barrel. I was given a load of 45 gr of 4350 with the same bullet. Too hot in my barrel by about 2 grains. Work up is good advice. JMHO
