has anyone Experimented with reloader 25 in a 243win... ive been geting great results with 44grs of h1000 on 100gr sierra game kings.. burn rate seems to be pretty close between the 2...rl25 & h1000

Re: 243win powder

In my experience with 107gr and 115gr pills, I could go about 1 grain higher with Re25 than H1000. Accuracy and velocity was about the same (maybe a little more speed with Re25, but negligible), so I stuck with H1000 for temp stability reasons.

Re: 243win powder

Using 47.3gr of RE25 with 115gr DTACs seated to mag length in Lapua brass. Getting 3050fps with good groups and very small SD on velocity. 24moa to 1000 yards on 100 yard zero.

Re: 243win powder

Have good performance and velocity from both H-1000 and RL-25.
Shooting the 105 A-Max & Lapua's,107 Sierra's and 115 DTAC.

243 and 6CM with 28 in tube easily getting over 3,000 FPS.

RL-25 seems to be a little faster than H-1000 but I like the
temp. stability of H-1000.

Good luck with your load and shooting.

with the 47.3 grs have you noticed any signs of pressure??

Here's a paste from another source: No secret - alot of us visit that site.

Preferred Powders--Match Your Propellant to Bullet Weight
For the heavy bullets, in the 100-115 grain range, modern slow-burning extruded powders produce great accuracy with low ES and SD. With the 105-107 grain match bullets, try H4831sc, Reloader 22, Reloader 25, and Vihtavuori N165. Sierra's recommended Hunting Load for its 100gr soft-point FB and BT bullets is 36.2gr IMR 4064 at 2900 fps. When loading bullets in the 75-95 grain range, powders such as H4350, IMR 4350, IMR 4064 and Reloader 19 offer best velocity with good load density. Many long-range varminters recommend H414 with the 87gr V-Max. For the light varmint 60-75 grain varmint bullets, you can use faster powders, such as Hodgdon Varget, H414, and Vihtavuori N140. For the 70gr BlitzKing, Sierra suggests a load of 38.6 grains N140 at 3200 fps. Maximum velocities with the lighter bullets can be achieved with ball powders such as Winchester 760 and H380. Click Here to download Sierra Bullet's complete .243 Winchester Load Map as a .pdf (Adobe Acrobat) file. With data for two dozen powders, this provides suggested loads for Sierra's entire 6mm bullet line-up from 55 to 107 grains.

Re: 243win powder

Tac243,

No pressure signs there but at 47.4 I get a little resistance on bolt lift. Thats with a minimum size chamber cut by my gunsmith on a 26 inch Bartlien barrel.
