For those of you running 25rnd Pmags/Lancer mags in your SR25 pattern rifle: How do they handle with the gun on a bipod?
Is it a PIA?
Do you have to run the bipod up really high??
Trying to decide if I want some 25rnds

They’re tall. Best for use off a tripod or free hand stuff. Stick a 30 round 5.56 up in there and it will give you an idea.

The height of 25-30 round mags when shooting of a bench is why I only use 20 round mags is any caliber AR.

IMHO... they are just to big for my benched , and prone shooting stances.

The 10rd mags will readily fall out of the way, and make for little "excess" movement while reloading.

That said... the 25 rd mags ride just fine in the 14.5" 308

Here is a picture progression from 25 round to 10 round, in 5 round increments (including a 10 round with Taran Tactical +5 plate). The bipod is a Harris pattern 9-12”.

Note that on the lowest setting of the bipod, the rifle rests on the 25 round mag, but on the butt of the rifle for the others. I have to admit that the 25 round mag looks the coolest, but is impractical for a bench/prone gun.

With a 9” maximum for bipod height, my experience has been that the 15 round magazine is the best compromise of capacity and convenience.

Note that if you max out the height of the bipod, there is room for the mag to drop free. I pulled a scope off of another rifle and asked the question, “Can I comfortably shoot the gun from prone with the bipod that high?” The answer is no for me and my build (5’11”, 160lb). There is too much arch in my back, and the gun is still angled slightly up even when I am uncomfortably torqued to bring the muzzle down. You may have a different experience if your build requires you to have a taller bipod.

Wow. Thank you Brother. That was above and beyond.
