260 rem 123 Scenar

Re: 260 rem 123 Scenar

ive reloaded the 260rem with the 123 scenar using reloader 15,IMR Xbr,varget. personally i go with xbr or reloader15. excellent bullet to push fast in the 260!

Re: 260 rem 123 Scenar

I would try H4350 or H 4831sc. I always try to get the case full of powder. The RL powders will work also. I just have more of the other and it seems to work for me.

H4350 with a 123gr scenar, I've gotten 3000fps with two different rifles. 24" Rock 5R 1-9" and a 26" Schneider 1-8.5".

Work up slow. 123's seem to be "jump friendly" in both rifles.

Re: 260 rem 123 Scenar

Same with the H4350. The powder works great with the 123s.

Re: 260 rem 123 Scenar

good I am aiming for the 3000fps will start out slow, Thanks guy I hate to sound lame but I have shot the 308 my whole life the 260 is new to me

Re: 260 rem 123 Scenar

I run 123's with RL-15 and found an accuracy node at 2940 fps. My rifle has about 3K down the tube and is still stupidly accurate.

Re: 260 rem 123 Scenar

With the 123 A-Max in my rifle (26" Criterion), 39.3gr Varget gives me 2930fps and 48.0gr H4831SC 3000fps in a compressed load.

Both loads in my rifle are good for at least 5 shots in 0.5" @ 100yd.

H4350 can probably give you the same speed as 4831SC with a few less grains powder.

Re: 260 rem 123 Scenar

yeah I got a 22" barrel...dont think I can get it going that fast

Re: 260 rem 123 Scenar

I used to shoot F-Class matches (600 & 1000) 04-06 and it did well. Shot at Thunder Valley this summer it took 24 MOA for 1K. It was about 95 degrees that day. My ballistic program said they were actually running 3050 fps.

Re: 260 rem 123 Scenar

Haven't tried the 123 Scenars, but have no problem getting 3000+ with 120gr Ballistic tips and 45gr H4350 from my 24" Brux barrel. Accuracy is good too.

Re: 260 rem 123 Scenar

we have been shooting 49 grs H1000 at 2900 fps,,it shoots sub 1 inch groups at 300 yards and tracks very well to 1,000,,

pretty mild load that doesnt heat up rifle too fast and shoots lights out,,from 100 zero it takes around 25-26 MOA to make 1,000
