260 Remington ?

I have a 6.5 Krieger barrel that I'm going to chamber in 260. Does anyone have loads to share and is the 139gr Lapua a better bullet than the 142gr MK ? H4350 or 4831SC ?

Thanks all, Fish

Re: 260 Remington ?

Hey Fish,

I shoot a 260 in comp's, as well as other shooters do, and it works great. After lots of testing, H4350 is my powder. Others have also had good results with H4831. Pick a 210M or CCI 200, and load up some test loads, and you will find the money load for sure. Have your gunsmith cut the chamber to shoot the 139's at mag length, so you can grow with the troat erosion.

Re: 260 Remington ?

I'm getting my new barrel cut tomorrow. You are going to love shooting a .260. As Chad stated earlier you will find good luck with the H4350. My old load was 42.0 grains and I was pushing the 140 A-max.

Good luck.

Re: 260 Remington ?

I shot a 260 as well and it is the best round I have. I use 139 Scenars Br primers and H4831sc. I settled on 47.5gr. If you decide to use H4831sc start lower and work up.

Used to own a Krieger barreled Surgeon Scalpel in 260 Rem. Shot well with Fed 210 or Wolf LR primers, H4350 and 139 Lapua Scenars.
