260 WSM

I'm toying with the ideal of re chambering my Savage 12 LRP 260 to a 260 WSM. I don't know how accurate or how much added velocity I would gain. I would either do this or just keep it as is. I'm not even sure what it would require as far as re using the barrel I have or replacing the bolt head or anything else for that matter.

Might want to start in the Bolt action or Gun smithing section for starters..

Thanks camocorvette for the advise. I tried to search 260 wsm and 6.5 wsm and I didn't find anything. Has anyone had any experience with the 260 wsm and what all it would take to do this and would it be worth the extra gained velocities?

Look at 6.5 Remington magnums.

The 6.5 wsm is refered to as the 6.5 Leopard if I'm not mistaken. If you are looking for a little more ass without roasting the barrel take a look at the 6.5x55 also refered to as the Sweed.
