Has anyone else had loose primer pocket issues with Federal Gold Medal Match brass? Mainly 260 remington. I had 5 primers pop on me this morning. My load is 42.3gr of H4350 under a 142gr smk, igniting the concoction is a CCI #200. This load runs 2833fps.

I seated to 2.800 which is the factory GMM oal. I try to mimick factory velocities and dimensions. Just improve upon the quality and consistency.

Federal brass is soft, you dont get many loadings out of it. Get yourself some Lapua and you wont have that issue.

I'm realizing this now. I have loaded my 300 WM using federal brass without issue for a while now. I assumed the gmm would be good enough to get more than a factory loading out of... If I have learned anything about reloading/shooting is that "saving a penny" at the beginning usually costs extra in the end... have lived and learned.

You are prolly far enough from the lands but for future reference, the closer to the lands the higher the pressure spike the sooner the primer pockets will loosen.

You should check your distance to lands.
