Gunsmithing .264 Winchester rebarrel

I have an old Remington rifle in this caliber that needs a new barrel . Doing some reading it looks like they came with 1 in 9 twists from the factory .
Is this caliber like the ole 22-250 fast with light bullets slower twist rate or should it be up dated with a faster twist rate for heavier bullets ? Any opinions or experience welcome .

I'd go with a 1-8 twist.....should shoot anything....light & heavies.

Brux makes a 1:8.5, get a 26" barrel. The only way to maximize a 264's perf ormance.
