1 WEEK LEFT: This Target Haunts Me Contest
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
I’m going to be putting a 280 AI together and am think about having a 3/4” shank after the recoil lug. Will be using a Stiller Predator action and Bartlein 2b barrel. Anyone see any issues with this?
Yes.
It is a rem 700 clone and the bolt requires a counter bore for the bolt nose (the bolt nose actually enters the barrel)
Use a depth gage, measure the distance from the face of the action to the bolt lugs, add the thickness of your recoil lug minus, I believe .010.
With a standard thickness recoil lug your shank length will be in the ball park of .874. With a thicker lug, it will be longer.
