Due to the cancellation of the APS match, I decided to throw together a match at Angeles Ranges to fill the void.
We had 12 shooters, 4 of which were first-time shooters to centerfire matches.

Results were as follows:

Engage the 400yd plate with 1 shot.
A hit is worth 40 points.

Stage 2
5 dot option.
Engage the target with 5 shots only.
Hits on the large dots are worth 10 points.
Hits on the small dots are worth 20 points.

Stage 3
Know your Limitations
Engage as many of the octagons as you can without missing.
A miss causes you to zero your target.

Stage 4
Multi position steel
Engage the 200yd plate with 2 shots standing unsupported.
Transistion to kneeling and engage the 300yd plate with 2 shots from supported kneeling.
Transistion to seated and engage the 400yd plate with 2 shots from supported seated.
Transistion to prone and engage the 500yd plate with 2 shots from supported prone.
Each hit is worth 10 points.
80 points possible.

Stage 5
Keep in Memory
Shooters were shown 2 shapes during the morning match briefing and told to remember them.
Engage each of the two shapes with 2 shots.
Each center hit is worth 20 points.
Each hit within the outline is worth 10 points.

Stage 6
Multi position paper
Engage the 100yd paper target with 2 shots standing unsupported.
Transistion to kneeling and engage the target with 2 shots from supported kneeling.
Transistion to seated and engage the target with 2 shots from supported seated.
Only 1 point of support was allowed in kneeling and seated positions.
Each hit is worth 10 points.
60 points possible.

Stage 7
Side Prone
Engage the 100yd target with 5 shots from the side prone position with the ejection port facing up.
Each hit within the center is worth 20 points.
Each hit within the outline is worth 10 points.

Holdovers
Engage the 200, 300, 400 & 500yd plates with 2 shots each from supported prone.
Shooter could set his scope turrets during prep, but could not adjust them during the course of fire.

Congrats on putting this together Randall. Nice to see that even though Bill the flake cancelled his match, you came through and got it done without worrying about getting enough shooters. Keep it up, and like Vu says, if you build it they will come, who knows get a good range and maybe it will be us coming down for a weekend match.

I had 4 new shooters.
I asked them why they came to this match, but would not have gone to Bill's match.
It was all about the location.
Angeles range is about 30-40 minutes closer for most people and has amenities like shade, bathrooms, a drinking fountain and a paved parking lot.
People know it and like it.
In addition, the range was very accomodating to us by reserving a bunch of benches on the line, giving us target stands for free and a reduced group-rate per-shooter compared to what the public pays.
They sure make it easy for me from an organizational standpoint!
