30-06/208 AMAX /Results

Well I finally decided to try the 208,s with my 06. Here is some data along with the pic of the groups. all where five shot but the bottom one, that is only two, I followed up with 3 more when I returned, but I did not snap a pic then I was in a hurry. I would like to thank Montana Marine, I stole his data

I use a CHRONY yes a CHRONY
The top group was 185 VLDS
The next one down was 60gr of RE/22

2902 The last three were shot a hour and a half later temp started at 87degrees, it was close to 100 by the last three. The last three were all touching I wish I would of took the picture because it was sic

The only sign of pressure was when it was almost 100 on the last 3 of the 61grs, just a little flattening of the primer not a ton, bolt was super easy to open. I hope this helps anyone wanting to do the 208's in a 06, I don't know if i believe my speeds or not I am going to try again later this week unless I find work.

The rifle was a ITD built 22.5 MTU contour, I will try to get a pic up later, this unemployment is tiring and I need a nap

I was clocking 208's seated to .010" off lands @ 2775 fps with 61.5 grains of RL22 in a 24" sporter weight Douglas. ES was 7 fps.

Looks pretty good to me, pretty close POI.
What other components did you use? Brass, primers, how far off the lands? The speed looks a little fast for 22.5" barrel, but i could be wrong.

The weird thing was right after I shot the 208s I shot some Grendel loads, and they came in right at 2510 for the 123 Amax, and that is pretty close to the charge I had in the cases for FPS I figured. I will do some drop testing out to 500yds this week to see how close it is to the Chrony data
