Gunsmithing 30-06 to 300 Norma

Quick internet search shows trim to length of '06 is 2.494
the Norma shows 63.25mm which is 2.490. So it may be
possible. If not a small set back would be necessary.
I was hoping to turn a Criterion 300wm into a 300nm but
that one is 2.6 -ish long.

The chamber lengths are functionally identical, the chamber change is easy however it's not going to recut any part of the throat like a regular setback would so you're putting a race tires onto a used buggy (the burned barrel, not the 30-06, that caliber is great IMO).

The other things will be:

Extractor, Ejector, and bolt face changes required
Feed ramps in the action changed
Feed lips in the action changed
