30 br brass

Well to open up I would get an expander die body with ring that will go in your press and then a mandrel in 30cal at a min and Id like to go at it with at least one or two intermediate steps such a 26 and 28 caliber so that it goes gradually and hopefully evenly. Some like to do it in one step. Try both and see what gives you better results. If youre shooting 30br youre likely doing benchrest so testing it key.

If youll be using it to size necks a bunch beyond just these initial forming steps then go for the coated mandrels as they will wear better over time. If youll only use them sparingly the regular stainless steel are perfectly fine and save you some coin.

Youll want to compare your reamer print with your actual brass, you may likely have to turn the necks to make them thinner or at least even them up if youll be dabbling in benchrest chamberings.
The "expander mandrels" will be .001 below bullet diameter and the "turning arbor" will be .002 below bullet diameter as a general rule but beyond that they are the same. The expander opens the brass up just enough so that it can slide onto the turning arbor with no wiggle room to ensure it gets cut evenly.
