So a $35 set of 300 black dies jumped in my cart last night. I have black brass and Speer 125 TNTs from my 308.
Never planned to load 300 black but now...
What's the go to powders?
I see H110 show up in searches.
Seems H4198 should be close.
A friend of mine bought CFE black and likes it but struggling for moa in a bolt gun.
I have an ar pistol.

I am using H110 with the 125 TNT and a 110 nosler varmageddon. Both shoot right at 1 inch at 100, Cheap 16 inch BBL. Made the 125 tnt my goto bullet for the cost, Just ordered another 1k from midway!

I didnt have an issue getting sierra 125 and 220 under an inch in both super and sub sonic using CFEBLK back when I had my blackout bolt gun. That stuff is the gold ticket IMO.

I like Alliant 1680. It’s great for super and subsonic. Not as dirty as some powders supposedly. That said, anything suppressed is dirty.
Seekins 8” match barrel
76F 26% 29.86mmHg

Speer 125 gr TNT
AA 1680 19 gr
Fed 205M
Magneto V3
1552, 1554 fps

That's super slow.
I get 2000 plus from factory ammo and my 8.25" cmmg barrel

Second H110 for the 110-125 class

125 end up around 18-18.5 grains

296 for standard loads or lil gun for more velocity. But also more pressure as well.

H110 for the light stuff... make sure you case fill is up there in the high 90% range otherwise bad things can happen with H110.

I was probably on the verge of something bad when trying to work up H110 with 150g FMJ pulls. Blowing primers way before I should have. Buddy of mine that loads thousands of rounds of magnum pistol a year said H110 doesnt like case fills under like 95% as it tends to burn weird. I switched to Lil-Gun for those 150g FMJ pulls and no further issues.

Your buddy is correct from my experience. H110 or 296 does not do well with reduced loads. Tried it in a 44 and didn’t work well.

H110 here, I think it was 18g that shot the best for me with 125g Nosler BT bullets. Zeroed at 50 yards with similar POI at 100 yards which is as far as I would hunt with them.
