Yes...should be fine.
Same rules apply though with respect to the testing of ANY AND ALL ammo that you'll be running through your can. Test it without the can first and confirm that the bullets are properly stabilized, etc. (not keyholing or otherwise exhibiting signs of problems on paper).

As long as the can is rated for rifle pressures. It was quite common to shoot whisper/blackout thru 9mm cans for a smaller light setup vs a 30 caliber can that was built for 300WM.
Yes but 9mm cans are for subsonic only. Like ORD said, 30 cal or larger caliber rated suppressor is fine for supersonic.
Its not so much the can i am concerned with its the back pressure created on rifle with pistol length gas system.
I am shooting the snot out of mine with a .30 SAS can. No issues at all. Shoots like every other rifle I have
Mine shoots 110vmax and 125 MKs just fine with pistol length gas and a yhm phantom hanging off the end. Probably got 400 supersonic rounds through it.
No problems here, but you might want a heavier buffer if your not using one already for supers. Just a thought.
