300 Norma Die Advice and Pro-tip

They seem to size the base of the brass better. I had clickers with another brand of dies. Not with this die. It was new Lapua brass in a factory AXMC barrel, so the chamber may be a little on the large side of the spec? Either way, no issues now.

Which brand did you struggle with? I’ve had the worst clickers with ADG brass in a Forster die. Using Lapua brass, the clickers were on and off. Sent my die to Forster and they sent one back that was a better fit for my chamber, and have had no issues through only 15 rounds with the new die. Still skeptical as clickers just suck haha. Been looking to try a new brand

If you need one get a Forster die. If you call in, ask for Josh. He is a gunsmith, chambers barrels the whole 9 yards. Forster is a small company, and they have some great people working there. Like the above post if you send them in some fired brass i believe they will custom fit it for you.

SAC dies are what I'm waiting for. I ran 300NM a few years ago, and stepped away for a while. I used micron dies. They worked, but i think the SAC dies are going to be the cats ass.

I spoke to Short Action Customs this morning, they will not have a bushing sizing die in 300 Norma Magnum until the fall, when asked what month that is, they would not commit as there are variables outside of their control. I have several Short Action Custom dies and accessories, Mark Gordon makes excellent products.

I just orderd a Micron arbor seating die from Bullet Central so I can seat bullets at the range if necessary. I'm thinking of ordering a bushing seating die from Whidden who I also own dies from. How long did it take Forster to make you a custom sizing die from fired brass?

The other issue is the 300 norma die SAC is making is a proprietary size i believe only SAC is making the adapter to work in their press. I'm sure more will be made by other companies in the future. I would call in and ask. I believe they don't do a full custom die, but they will hone them or whatever needs to be done to make them work for your chamber.
