I just had a new 300 PRC built and am getting ready to reload for it. It's a Borden, Proof in a McMillan. Any recommendations on dies? I typically use Redding Typs S, but wondered if there might be something better for this round.

Thanks,

Jim

Redding are good, I've had really good luck with Hornady match bushing dies as of late. Judging that this is one their brain child cartridges, I bet they're pretty decent.

I had issues with my Hornady bushing dies. I was getting significant differences in bump amount case to case. I ended up getting a Whidden custom die made and have been much happier with it. For a seating die, LE Wilson just came out with a 300 PRC for their product that's used with an arbor press. I had been getting extremely consistent results for my 6mm BRA using their seater - the 300 die is just as good. Love the arbor press.

I'm running Hornady bushing dies in 6.5 prc, 7mag, 300norma improved. No issues whatsoever. I found out that with proper annealing 95% my shoulders bump within 0.001 of each other. I don't shoot benchrest so that's good enough for me. I'll have to look into an arbor press for seating. I know a lot of guys like em. I've found if my brass has 2 thou or less runout after FL sizing, it's 3 or less at ogive on concentricity tools.

Yeah, I never had an issue with other Hornady bushing dies. For some reason my 300s gave me fits. I pluralized that on purpose - I got the same results with two different dies.

Another vote for LE Wilson. I've used most other manufacturers dies outside of Whidden and I personally really like LE Wilson stuff. Finally made the switch to an Arbor press for seating and it's saves me a range trip since I can adjust seating depth at the range with the arbor setup.
