Re: 300 RUM build

What are you considering long range? You might want to consider a higher magnification scope on there. I don't know how much shooting you do either, but if it is a lot, feeding a 300RUM could get costly compared to 1000 yd compotent rounds such as the 308, if you like the 30 cal, or the 6-7mm chamberings. Also, if you are serious about long range shooting, I would definitely invest in reloading equipment.

Re: 300 RUM build

I reload everything rifle, shotgun and pistol.I have a 308 7.62x39 and the 300 RUM My partner also shoots his 300 RUM .So we buy 30 cal bullets in bulk.100 grains of powder is costly but I Stocked up for this. My FNAR will be for hunting so that will be my under 500yd rig. This project will be my 500+yd. rig out to 1000 is my plan .We have a club that has a mile range in the prosess of being built. So who knows . I think the fixed 10 will do for now as the ss 10 is very tough and afordable if I ever out grow it .I will put it on my 20" AR15 rig.Besides bedding and 1 pc. base I am thinking about a adj.cheek pc., and a atlas bipod.Talked to Tubbs about their bolt and thats also on the list.Probally start building loads with SMK or maybe 208 AMAX.Did I miss anything?
