300 RUM not feeding with bravo stock

Hey guys! Long time reader first time poster so go easy on me.

I have a rem 700 in 300 RUM that, for whatever reason, i decided I needed to switch to detachable mags. I dropped it into a KRG Bravo stock and picked up a couple of the accurate mags that KRG suggested. I couldn't get it to feed very well even after adjusting everything that KRG support suggested. I had to get the barrel threaded anyhow so figured I'd have my smith get it figured out while he had it. Unfortunately, he couldn't get it to feed either. I'll do my best to describe whats going on. I will also do my best to attach videos to this thread.

The first round feeds fine every time. However, the second round gets pushed all the way forward in the mag by the bolt, as it’s chambering the first. So basically the friction from chambering the first round slides the second round forward enough in the mag to get stuck under the feed ramp making it, and every subsequent round, a nose dive under the feed ramp.

Something I noticed when I took apart one of the mags is that there is almost no spring pressure on the front portion of the follower. I'm no expert so maybe that's completely normal but it certainly seems to make it easier for the rounds to nose dive.

Questions:

1. Can 300 RUM be reliably fed in a bolt gun with a detachable mag?

2. What other brand mags would be worth looking into? Currently using the Accurate mags SSSF 3.850 for 300 RUM.

Thanks in advance for the help

Shorter mags, glue/weld in a restrictor plate on the front side inside the magazine (may require follower modification), or cut a notch in the feed ramp (1/4" endmill does this nicely).

Thanks for the response!

KRG also suggested notching the feed ramp and I'm sure that would take care of the rounds catching. The problem is that I had some other feeding issues that i'm not sure will be addressed by the feed ramp modification. As much as my gunsmith would love it I'm not sure I want to continue down this particular rabbit hole. I plan to use this rig for hunting so reliability is pretty big factor or me. I might just see about getting myself a nice McMillan that retains the factory hinge plate.
