Can anyone share actual drop charts for a whisper or 300-221 with the heavy, high BC bullets like the 220-240SMKs?
I want to compare what the calculators say to what people are getting in real life before I spend the $$$ on a whisper.

I am also interested in the real world drop of 300 Whisper rounds.

Would one of you guys mind passing on the the information?

Thanks

Why not just post the info? It would be interesting to see how JBM compares. The simulations say that the higher BC gains you very little trajectory wise at subsonic velocities.

JBM 300 yard trajectories, 1030 fps, 50 yard zero, 10 MPH wind, Litz models

.308 168 SMK: -126" (drop) 9.9" (wind)
.308 175 SMK: -124" (drop) 8.9" (wind)
.308 190 SMK: -123" (drop) 8.1" (wind)
.308 220 SMK: -122" (drop) 7.1" (wind)
.308 240 SMK: -121" (drop) 6.6" (wind)

.338 300 SMK: -120" (drop) 5.8" (wind)

.510 750 AMAX: -121" (drop) 4.9" (wind)

calculators suck for subsonic stuff. You have the fudge the numbers to fit the actual drop which takes adjusting both the BC and the velocity. I shoot 220 SMK's at 1050fps and have to use a BC of 1.250 G7 at 1350fps to match actual flight. Here is some of my data

Range.......elevation mRad
100..........0..
200..........2.5
300..........5.3

I am probably missing something but are you using your mils at magnification where they should be 3.6" at 100, 7.2" at 200, and 10.8" at 300?

This would mean you are only getting a drop of 18" at 200 yards and 57.24" at 300 yards.

Those seem to be alot less then the typical 90"+ drops I have seen referenced elswhere for 300 yards.

Nope you are not missing anything

As I stated...real world data does not match what the ballistic calculators spit out. The calculators do not come anywhere close to showing how efficient shooting subsonic is.

Well I guess I need to stretch my rifle's legs and take her out to 300 yards the next time I get out.

Thanks for the info
