300 win mag 225 ELD vs 230 Berger... thoughts?

Cant go wrong with Berger, I have used the 230's for 1000 yard F class match's they were more consistent than the 208 A-max, I never tried the ELD in that barrel & the new barrel is set up for 185-200 pills for AI mag length . You might have to single feed them heavy pills.

Never tried the Hornady but don’t overlook the 215 berger either I’m getting 2950 from a 24” bartlien and it loves them. The 230 was 2800 and shot well but 215 just shoots in mine. You’ve got a little more length so 230 might get some more speed. As far as 9 twist goes should be more than adequate with all mines a 10.

Im getting 3,000 FPS from a 24 inch Remington with 208 ELDs, so im hoping with the 27 inch barrel I can maintain that velocity with 215s, or be darn close with 230s. Still a lot of case volume left for powder and what I use tends to favor heavy bullets. I will probably break it in with what I have and work with it since I have about 700 bullets left, then grab a box or two of Bergers and 225 ELDs if a black Friday special comes up... Brunos being a block from my station is bad news sometimes!

Brunos is great - if they were a block away from me, I'd be in serious trouble. I've only used factory 190 or 195gr 300 Wm ammo. I'll have to give the heavier bullets a try - sounds similar to a MK 248 Mod 1 round performance.
