Please let me know your experience with these powders. Any advice is appreciated.

I am new to reloading so please bare with me. I am looking to standardize on a powder for .300 WM, .338 LM and .260. All three of these powders have good results on all 3 (per the internet).

On the .300 WM I am working with a 24" 1 in 10 twist 5R barrel. I am wanting to load 200s to 220s.

Of the 3 powders, which would you prefer?

H-1000 is what use for all 300 WM loads. Also I must note, I don't use any bullet lighter than 185 grains for the 300 WM. H-1000 will also work well with the 338 Lapua. The 260 Rem is another issue. It's capacity is vastly smaller that the other 2. Yes, you can use H1000 in it, with heavy bullets, but something like H4350 would be better. You can use H4350 on the 300 WM and 338 Lapua, but i'st not really ideal, again due to capacity.

I think it's a stretch to find one powder that optimum for all 3.... With both H1000 and H4350 you will have a better powder mix for all three, regards of bullet weight you finally employ. IMHO and YMMV.

I agree with bob. I'd run H4831 or H4831sc for 260 and H1000 for the other two. If you absolutely must use one powder for all then H4831 would probably be it but you will significantly reduce your barrel life in the 300 and 338 by using a faster powder. Is it worth reduced barrel life to have one less powder sitting around?

Very true statements. I believe you boys are right. I was leaning towards H1000 from the start but was seeing if I could make it work. I appreciate the help.

Yeah, might sound like a reasonable solution, one propellant for all your needs. But, there will always be one powder that performs, or should I say outperforms all the others. The only way this idea works is if you are a castaway on a desert island and a crate of H1000 washed up on shore. There's your solution, only shoot 300WM and it will last longer and give you and Amelia something to do, awaiting rescue. BB
