Re: 300 wm

The 700P and 5R are both solid options that won't break the bank and will perform well out of the box.

The Sendero rifles are hit and miss. I have owned (and still own) some that shoot sub-MOA (including an SF in 300WM) and others (I have gladly parted with) that would barely get under 2MOA. If you go the Sendero route, make sure you get some evidence of the rifle's ability with quality ammo before you drop any money into it.

This sums it up for me too. The 5R and Police rifles are a great place to start, and if in the future, you can get some custom work done you will have a solid foundation to start from.

Good luck.

Re: 300 wm

Savage for sure. I have a 111 non accu-trigger, pencil thin bbl. that will shoot 5 shots into .463" and the worst group I have shot with it goes into 1" for 5 shots.
Look for the new long range hunter in .300WM. it comes with an accu-stock and trigger, adjustable cheek rest and a muzzle break that can be turned on or off on a fluted bbl.. Should be a shooter for as I understand about $750.00+-.

Re: 300 wm

+1 on the Savage long range hunter model. I have never meet a savage I didn't like. Come to think of it though, I don't remember meeting too many rifles that I didn't like. anyway, just consider the savage. All that I have owned have been shooters out of the box. I will say however, that if you get one with the pencil thin barrel, the recoil is going to be stiff. Manageable, but stiff.

Re: 300 wm

I just sent a bunch of parts to Warner Tool to have a 300WM built on an A-5 ,Rem700 L/A, Badger M5 Bottom Metal (AI mags) w/ 26" Bartlien bbl + Badger FTE Brake.
Gettin everything coated in FDE Birdsong finish.

I hate the wait!
