.300 WSM / AICS?

I just noticed that .300 WSM cases fit into AICS .308 mags. I can get 7 of them into a 10 round mag. The AICS magazine seems to have about 2.850" internal clearance.

Realizing that unapproved = legal lala land, has anyone tried this? My AICS currently houses a 700P in .308 but I am thinking about moving the .300 WSM into it or getting another when wallet allows.

Thoughts?

While they do fit, they will have to be modified for them to feed through a bottom metal. The lips will have to be widened, and if you are running long bullet, the front plate will have to be removed.
