I've been trying out several loads for a Rem. Xcr II in 300 wsm. I've got a few down to just under 1 moa, but I'd like to do better than that. This rifle appears to like H 4350 powder, and do to the short mag. well, I can't push the coal as long as I'd like. This leaves me thinking about tweaking the ignition...
I've been sticking with the loading manual(s) suggested primer of choice - being WLRM's. Has anyone had better luck with other types of magnum primers or even using a standard large rifle primers? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Re: 300 wsm primed for accuracy

My favorite magnum primer its CCI 250's, they have given me the best accuracy. That said, I love Winchester long rifle primers, they are my all time favorite. Maybe instead of trying another magnum primer, you try Winchester standard primers. The wsm's don't necessarily need magnum primers, so it will be fine. I really don't think changing primers will have a big effect though, might be something else causing accuracy issues.

Re: 300 wsm primed for accuracy

Have had great results using Dan Newberry's OCW load workup method. Used it to find the accuracy nodes for charge weight and then to find best seating depth. No harm trying different primers as one might be noticably better then what you are using now.
