Working on putting a Savage 06 rifle together and recently got a barrel fro PAC-NOR with a saami chamber. Loaded a dummy round with 190 smk (was same OAL as my M2 ball) to use while in letting the stock for a DBM and noticed a could not chamber it. Would chamber ball ammo fine. I could get it chamber if I seated the bullet further. Does this sound right? Do I need to have the barrel "throated" for the 190 smk so I will not have to seat so deep?
