300prc mag issue

I have a 300wm mdt mag that was sold to me at 300prc mag. If I fill the mag with 5 rounds it'll work and load the first round but after that it doesn't strip them from the mag. I assume there is some modification that needs to be done to render this? Any information would be much appreciated!

Pretty sure 300wm and 300PRC should feed fine from the same mag. Why is it not stripping the next round?

It starts to but it's like it's not catching enough and it ends up skipping over the case.

Check to see if your chassis has adjustments for the mag catch that will adjust mag height. It may need a minor tweak.

IS the case not coming up high enough, or is the mag not sitting high enough? Sometimes bullet tips can get caught under the feed ramp also with a long OAL and an untouched feed ramp. What action?

I think the case isn't sitting high enough will have to confirm tomorrow. The chassis/stock is a krg bravo. The action is a defiance tenacity.

I'll grab that tomorrow as well I'm stuck at work for another 8. I did get this tho probably not much help since the mag is empty.

For the KRG Bravo you can adjust the magazine fit. There may be excessive play that is preventing the second round from feeding. https://kineticresearchgroup.com/download/10689/

Also take a picture so we can see how high up the round sits in the magazine like the pic below. However, rule out magazine fit and feed ramp interference before moving to tweaking/bending feed lips.

Best pics I could get from down the action. I haven't tried to tweak the mag depth on the chassis yet.

My guess on what's happening:

- First round is being pushed up a tiny amount higher because there's a tighter spring under 4 more rounds pushing it up.
- Subsequent rounds lose a little bit of push and are just slightly lower in the mag

I'm betting that opening up the mag lips to allow the case to sit a little higher will take care of the issue.

I had to adjust feed lips to get a 300prc round to feed properly in a AICS CIP mag. The case diameter is larger.
