Hey everyone, I am new to the site and getting into long range shooting. I recently purchased a Harris Mcmillian 300 win mag with Leupold Mark 4 16x scope off a friend of mind. Only shot it a couple times and now I am thinking switching to a smaller caliber such as a 6.5 Creedmoor or 6.5 PRC. Any suggestions? I am a smaller guy, 150lbs and the distances I’m looking to shoot 500-800 yards (no range around me to shoot further).

For your .300 Win Mag, put a brake on it. It will be comfortable to shoot.
If you want to go to a smaller cartridge you'll have to get another rifle with a short action. If you're shooting targets and steel the 6.5mm Creedmoor will work fine.
