Been shooting 208ELDM ELR and finally came upon a batch of 215 Berger Hybrids. Has anyone experience with loading each of these bullets, side-by-side charge weight comparisons? Would like a short load development transition to the Hybrids with the listed powders.

    Current 23.5" barrel

    Bullet: 208 ELDM
Brass: PPU (H2O cap fired 92.7gr)
    Primer: Fed 215
    COAL: 3.500
    Jump: .010"

    Powders:
    RL25 77gr MV: 2930fps
    H1000 75.5gr MV: 2890fps
    N570 on deck to try

My MPA 300-WM is a tack-driver and routinely dings steel at a mile.
I've standardized on Berger 200.20x Hybrids, and 74.7g of Retumbo. Gives me single-digit SD's and velocities right around 2,995 ft/sec. Tried the 215's but could never get the same tight results.
I use my H100 for the heavier magnum loads and bullets (300-NM, 338-LM).

    Amazing timing Rusty!

I was getting ready to message you and ask about shooting the 200.20x at a mile.

Too funny ... yeah ... those bullets were specifically designed by Berger with consultation from several ELR shooting teams to compete out to a mile. It's an awesome bullet with either H1000 or Retumbo.

I shoot the 215g's with 76g of Retumbo at 2820 fps. I'll have to double check my load for the 208g's, but it's pretty close to the 215g's...Both are under a 1/2 MOA at 100yards in a Savage 110.

What barrel length is your MPA?

I've not used the 208ELDM, however I've used and have a bunch of the old 208AMAX's. In my LR 300wm I use the same powder charge of H1000 with the 208amax and 215hybrid, seating both to the same length at ogive. The 215's run 2920, the 208's just under 2950. Both loads are very accurate out to a mile.

Hybrid shoot best with jump of 30thou or greater

I've had nearly same results as 375fan above... 77gr-ish of H1000 in Win brass for either 215H or old 208Amax. My barrel gave me 2970 with the 208's or could do 3060 if pushed harder. I think the 215H were about 2910-2890 for me from memory.

and @375fan - So I am set to try the same 77 of RL25, and 76 of H1000. Flying a little on a prayer with 80gr N570 as I was able to glean off the various forums that 80-81.5 of N570 was a node "ish".

I had 208 ELDMs and 208 Amax at 3060 when the barrel was a 30" tube. Cut it to 23.5 and it lost 130fps, but I'm good with 2930ish now that I turned it into a hunt rig and an IPSC hitter to 1000yds.

I run the 215 in mine. I have loaded for the 208’s and like others have said they are real close in
Load and performance. I haven’t had the opportunity to take it out past 1200 yards but no issues getting there.
    FGGM Brass
    FED215M
    75.5gr H1000
    4 thousandths off lands
    2910fps

Well it seems we're all in the same ballpark basically , WW brass, 76gr H1000, 26" barrel.
One of my good shooting buddies years ago when we first met and we're shooting a match ran about 3 rounds short for his winmag. So he goes; Hey, what's your load? I tell him, he grabs 3 rounds from my ammo carrier and shoots them, hits with all 3 on a 1moa target at little over 600 yards. He typically shoots the same load as mine.

    That's hilarious!
What I have discovered on case capacities of 300WM brands: (Closest half grain)
    Prvi Partizan - 93gr
Winchester - (Need to test the new stuff) Looks like a match with Prvi P.
    Lapua - 91.5gr
    Peterson - 91.5gr (Virgin 89)
    Norma - 94gr

Took the 215s for a run. Kept the ammo warm in my insulated bibs and single fed to mimic warmer weather temps. I suspect ammo was 95-100F.

    3rnds per powder: 23.5" barrel
H1000 @ 76gr pressured out at 2910fps (Cratered primer, enlarged primer pockets)
N570 @ 80gr slight sign of over pressure 2950fps (Slightest of primer crater beginning)
    RL25 @ 77gr slight sign of over pressure 2945fps (Same as N570)

    In comparison, 208ELDMs with RL25 @ 77gr shot 2930s in 90F weather.
This gun is very easy to read pressure. It craters primers like clockwork on over pressure rounds.

Next trip will be for precision testing of N570 @ 79-80gr and RL25 76-77gr.
