I have a M70 WSM. What do I need to do to get re-barreled? Buy a .30cal. blank, and take to a smith w/ rifle for finishing and installation? Thanks for any info.

I shipped my 300 wsm Win 70 barrelled action to ER Shaw and they did the chambering / install on my new barrel. They are not in the resident expert's Top 10 of barrel makers, but they did everything in shop and I have been pleased with their work.
If I had to do it again, I would order the barrel and then have my favorite gunsmith do the install.

Grab a barrel from bugholes or Grizzly and ship to Chad at LongRifles, Inc.

Not to hi-jack but I have a fn spr in 300 wsm.. My barrel has a lot of rounds and apparently has a much longer life because it is chrome limed CHF. Can anyone speak to the life of other 300 wsm barrels out there of quality? This is my first 300wsm and for an out of the box rifle + some work it has been pretty amazing, but I will soon be coming to a decision point. Thanks.
