.308 5R Milspec.....Short or long action?

I've been planning out everything I'll need for a 5R Milspec I plan to buy in the near future. Then the thought occured to me when I was looking at bases.

A Remington 700 in .308 is a short action right, but the M24 in .308 is a long action. How far did Remington take this M24 esque 700? Is it short action like the rest of the 700s or long like the M24?

The Remington M-24 comes in a 300WM or 7.62 Nato.
