Range Report 308 accuracy expectations

Re: 308 accuracy expectations

If you can print 3 1/2"-4 5/8 groups @ 600 your just above 1/2 MOA which is very respectable. The word repeatability becomes less realistic the further you go out, I have shot 5 round groups around 3" around 700 yards but there is not realistic to expect to repeat these results every time, there are just too many outside influences such as wind and conditions.

If this is from the bench - first thing is get off the bench, otherwise you have the rifle/ load / technique to a good level - now start working on consistently hitting the target in a variety of conditions - group size does not mean shit if it is off the target

practice under hot, cold, wind, rain, after exertion etc. (keep records) and know what the realistic expectations are for all conditions
