Hey Frank, I'm not a world class shooter, and honestly I shoot a lot of stuff NOT 308, but I work from home and have time to hit the range, so I'll throw my hat in the ring. I do have a LR308 that has proven to be quite precise. I'll post some groups when I'm get back to my computer. I've got a decent stash of Hornady match and fgmm to compare to as well- and I've got a magnetospeed v3 for velocity info. The rifle is generally moa, sometimes a bit more, others a bit less...

All measurements are edge to edge, not center to center. 100 yards for all targets posted.
    IMG_3259.JPG

This was the first group shot with match ammunition from this rifle. Federal fusion MSR made a shotgun pattern that wouldn't fit on the 6" target (circa 2012).

    IMG_3260.JPG

I like to shoot groups from factory ammunition during load work up. Some days I shoot better than others. (2013)

    1.349 and 1.316" edge to edge. (2020)

Results from hand loads, seating depth test (lapua brass, 2020).

How is shooting 308? I love it. Especially short 308's.

I responded to the rest in a PM. Thanks for the opportunity.

Nothing too fancy, but shot from my FN SPR A5M XP 20” with Federal 175gr FGMM w/ Surefire SFMB762 brake and Bushnell LRTSi 4.5-18x44 after sighting it in. I had tighter groups earlier in the day, but like an idiot, I forgot to take any photos of them.

And a slightly better group out of an AIAT 20” 1:12 factory barrel with 185gr FGMM Juggernauts with a USO ST-10, neither of which I own anymore, but this may help reinforce that I don’t entirely suck. :ROFLMAO:

As far as hitting the range, I just landed an instructing gig at the airport, which is located maybe 15min from the tange. I’d have the ability to shoot after a training flight three to four days a week. I can shoot paper out to 300 yards, if memory serves, and shoot steel out to 1000 once in awhile with the monthly AZLRPRS matches when I can make them.

I shoot .308. I know I know, sorry. I’am working on those fundamentals. 20” tikka

Here's my deal. I don't give two craps about promoting my groups, but if you want an honest assessment of the ammo, I'd be happy to help out.

I can use my AX or my Stuteville barrel. The Stuteville will shoot better and more easily, but I have several 308 options for evaluation.

When ever it opens up again I’ll be competing in 600yd ftr with it.

I have a few .308's mostly in the M40 series, I also have an APO, and a super match M1A.
Had my new A3 out last weekend, this is four different types of ammo/bullet weights to see what it likes best.

An old Wallet Group from this F-TR set-up on my now back-up .308, AJ "Goddard Enterprises LLC" Action in double digit serial #, Rock 22" 1-10.
But now I shoot an Impact/Bartlein 24" for PRS=style matches that is almost as tight, and I have an LRI Rem700 stick, so, like too many .308s?
Fun thread, can't wait to see who gets it. Guess I need to rebarrel one of mine into 6.5 finally!

Bone stock Rem 700P LTR 20" 12 twist w/ TBAC can. Access to 600 yard range. Magnetospeed V3 to check velocities, SD, ES.

I'm not a benchrest shooter, but this rig will consistently shoot FGMM 168 1/2 moa. Weak link in the system is the shooter. Solid 1 1/4 moa shooter to 600 unless winds get real squirrely.

Not the best candidate, but I've got nothing but time right now.

    Add: Sea level.

Forgot to mention I have access to 2 900 yard ranges anytime, a 1500 yard range and if everything goes right we should be headed to the Nevada desert pretty soon

Groups measures outside to outside. Rem 700 stock barreled action in a KRG Bravo w/Timney trigger. These are handloads, 168 Amaxs. I was pretty impressed with these groups (from two days ago) until I scrolled down this thread 😂

My first ever group with my most recent purchase. Wind was blowing like hell and the gusts were really nasty. No vertical dispersion.

I'm trying to find some time to go stretch her out sometime soon. I've been busy wiring a friend's outhouse and haven't had the time but when I'm done with the electrical, I'll take her out to distance...

    ETA:

I must add, I don't do residential electrical for work. I was only helping a friend because he needed help and I have nothing to do which leaves me a bunch of free time for shooting.

wants a review /article for the site
I don't have a 308. But, I want to know what this means. Are they looking for a "yeah, it works great!" Or are they wanting a testing against other ammo? other rifles? Distances? Terminal ballistics?
What does a "review or article" mean?
I'm thinking 100yd groups from 3 rifles against 3 other ammo maufactueres and then performance at distance from each of the rifles. Is this what it takes?

    Edit. More questions
Do they want it trial ran in multiple calculators to verify bc? Velocity becomes a question here?
Do they want to known if the bc needs banded, or does one bc get the job done to 1000yds?

Why is no one asking what this "review" entails? I mean, I want to do it...(If I had a 308) but I want to kow what is expected.

First 6 rounds out of a new 300wm. Poop bullets shoot okay when you have a good rifle. Forgetting your suppressor cover does make shooting groups a hair harder.

notice the “custom“ pmag that fits 3.6 oal Ammo...

OH. 308. I have one of those too just no pics

Really not trying to sound like an asshole but it's pretty obvious to me if I were to get the ammo that I would just about as much info as I could, such as the following:

    groups @ 100

    groups @ distance

    MV

wind drift @ every 100 yards or so vs a known good load (so yes, this would mean compare it to other stuff)

drops or elevation adjustment out to as far as you can shoot (also comparing to other ammo)

    etc

and then of course I would also expect the ammo maker to request specific stuff and gather that info

I’ve got a factory Tikka CTR .308 and shot this group at 100 using 168gr Federal Gold Medal Match. Seekins Precision Rings and Vortex Viper 6.5x20 SFP. Only mods are posished bolt
    and M-Carbo trigger spring.

    Hey Lowlight,

The refrigerator shot and set up is below. Shooting .308 Winchester is always a good time. It would be fun to write up a review too, and I might even do it in my pajamas.

MHSA Build that Mike helped me out with:
    -KRG Bravo Chassis
    -Bighorn TL3 S/A
    -30 inch Bartlein Barrel, 1 x 10 twist
    -CG X-Treme Mod 22 Trigger
-Spuhr Mount / Vortex Viper PST Gen 2
    - BTW...Hornady loads all my ammo too

What exactly is required of you to do a review of this ammo. Ive got
ruger RPR with 30" 1-10 krieger barrel
    vortex viper 6-24×50
    timny trigger
    Seekins muzzle brake
seekins rings and front hand guard
Consistently shoots .5 min out to 600 yds if i do my part. Thats the most range i got

    also got
    Ruger gunsite scout
    18.5 barrel stock
    4-14×44 vortex diamond back
only upgrade is a cheap muzzle brake and a 6 dolla trigger spring that reduced the pull weight to near nothing. That rifle can shooy .75 moa or better if the loads are tuned just right for it.

I had pictures on my old phone but i lost em when i ran it over with my truck so this is all i got. 3 shot group at 100yds with ruger rpr
