I'm purchasing a Tactical 2 in the next week or two and could use some expert help from some current or previous owners.

I don't see any reason to reinvent the wheel, so based on your experience with the Tactical 2, which match round would you recommend for punching holes in paper up to 1,000 yards? Please stick to factory ammo since military life doesn't exactly lend itself to reloading.

If there's already a thread covering this, please point it out (I couldn't find one specific to the Tactical 2).

Thanks in advance for the help.

Patrick, I don't own one but had one in shop for repair and HAD to field test it

. I took a box of whatever I had and some Black Hills 175 SMK's. The gun shot everything I put in it very well like 1/2-3/4" @ 100. Last to shoot was the BH 175's @ 600 1" moa then I took a few shots @ 1000 at a 1' diameter rock to lazy to put up target, after 3 or so spotter's I hit the rock next 2 rounds and rifle was not set up for me at all. It also had a 1" tube $300 10X Leupold. Enough BS to answer your question any 175 match ammo like BH or Fed GM and a company here on board South West ammo also Chad here on board rolls good ammo. I don't know your altitude but chances are good any 168 class won't make it to 1000 without getting funky on you. I'm assuming your Blaser is a 308.

Re: .308 Blaser Tactical 2 Ammo Advice

I own a Blaser LRS 2 .308 and I have found that Federal gold medal match both 168 gr and 175 gr shoot under 1/2 MOA. Black Hills 175 shot 1.5" a 550 yards (4-shots) at a tactical rifle class.

The tactical 2 .308 should shoot the same or better.

Good shooting ...
