A few weeks ago if I remember correctly, there was a post with pic's on a new style bolt carrier. It used the standard cotter pin for the firing pin retainer. Anyone out there tell me who was the manufacture or post the link to the thead.

I believe it is the same one in the GAP 10.

Re: .308 bolt carrier

what is the benefit to a chrome bolt carrier? I have always wondered why? I have a new upper being built and my smith is going to order a dpms bolt to head space, if this has a benefit, I will order this.
thanks

I primarily run chromed bolt carriers because they will wipe clean without solvent if you oil them regularly. I don't think they offer any kind of functional or accuracy improvements, but they sure make cleaning less of a pain in the ass.
