Range Report .308 hornady 155gr tap question

what is the difference between the 155gr tap le and the 155gr tap fpd besides different color boxes and different color cases? im talking about the 155 grain amax loading. is it velocity? is it flash retarder? is it sealant? i have access to both and they cost about the same. i have used the tap le (red box) and my m14 loves it. just want to know if i can substatute one for the other if need be. thanks.

edited, just to let you know i have been googling and forum searching for the answer for over 2 hours now. i need help! 308 FPD vs LE ...... especially concerning AMAX in the 155 grain to 168 grain.

Arent the TAP LE ballistic tipped? The difference is going to be in the way they expand on contact for penetration or over penetration purposes, if I had to guess. I use the TAP FPD in my .308 and they are real accurate.

if both 155gr FPD and 155gr LE use an AMAX bullet and they are both pushed to the same velocity. they should both perform identically........which is what i am asking ( do FPD and LE use amax?) and yes, they are ballistic tipped. so, what is the difference? just box packaging color and different marketing demographics?

more specifically......does the FPD 155gr use AMAX bullets?

the fpd is also faster then the le. Also, the fpd has nickel plated cases and le cases are brass.

i have emiled hornady (3 days ago with no response ) and i have no crono data for the LE (yet).
