308 Lapua vs. Federal brass volume?

I've searched this and not having any luck.

Anyone know the difference between 308 Lapua brass and federal brass volume?

(I'm using the same powder and bullet weights in both and wondering how it will affect performance. )

If you're using both, take a fired case of each, with the primer still in it. Weigh the case empty and record that, or hit the tare or zero on your scale. Then fill the case with water and record the weight. Do that for each. You'll see the difference, if any. Since water is the constant, the difference in weight will tell you which one has more volume than the other.

You shoukd be able to come to your own conclusions from there.

My chargeweight for my long range load is 47.8 in a Winchester case but only 47.4 in a Lapua case. {Varget, 155 Scenars, OAL = 2.948}
