I just bought about 250 pcs on the brass above, always bought once fired brass before because was only shooting AR10 so never cared about brand new brass.
Is it necessary to resize the new brass, on the Starline package it mentioned resizing only in the neck area would be recommended, but I don’t have a Neck Die only on hand , but only Forester FL size die. Am I correct to say that I can still use my FL but just partially resize the case just down to the Neck area?. Thanks

Lube up the inside of the neck and run it through the button portion of the die only. If you look close, starline brass necks tend to be dinged inwards. I assume from bouncing around factory conveyors. Mine were also always way too long and needed trimmed.

Can you chamber them in the rifle? If no no real sizing is necessary. You can run a mandrel into the necks or you could lower your expander ball in the full length die to just address any dings in the necks and to fine tune the interference fit.

But its not necessary for functionality, you can just load and go if you don’t want to fine tune tension/interference for between the bullet and brass.

Btw, measured the length and was 1.805-1.808, so its good, even the shoulder is around 2.566-2.567 which are actually my shoulder bump #, not sure about the neck ID and OD, don’t have any specs to compare to, its needs to be chamfer though, a little bit rough on the edges

I always run new brass through a sizing die. And I trim them. Norma, Lapua, Starline, any of them can get dented up in transit. Most likely the die won't touch the shoulder but I like to get any dings and dents out of the case neck.
