308 Velocity?

I returned from the range today and this is the first time I have used a chronograph. The chrono was borrowed and I was wondering if my velocities are accurate or even possible?

I was getting an average of 2900 FPS and higher with 45.5 and 46 grains of Reloader 15. I was shooting 168 Berger VLD's out of a .299 tight 24 inch Bartlein Barrel. Winchester and Lapua brass. The temperature outside was high 90's and maybe low 100's.

Sounds about right with R-15. Stuff is pretty temp sensitive, and with 2000MR I can get 2900 'ish with 168 gr bullets. With the 175 smk's a lot of guys are hitting 2800+ without pressure signs.

Sledge Hammer that is impressive speed. I am only getting a little over 2700 fps. Are you getting any pressure signs.

At 46.3 I get slight ejector marks. 45.5 is my most accurate load set at about .02 off AI mag length.
