Howdy all! Wby question taking into consideration: trouble finding components.
Situation: loading for long distance elk (800-1000yds)
What i wanted: nosler e-tip 225gr
What i got: hdy 230 eld-x
Powder available: 7828ssc, 4831sc
Primers: fed215
Brass: Norma
Rifle: mk-v acumark elite, custom shop but otherwise stock
Glass: nf atacr 7-35 f1 moar

Question: importance of seating depth.

Alrighty so, weatherby has freebore... Lots. With the hdy 230 eld-x, in my rifle i hit the lands at 4.130, my max mag length is 3.800, hdy recommends coal of 3.730. I'm not opposed to single load but does it really matter?

Been reloading for almost 2 decades and honestly (embarrassingly) this is really the first time I've actually considered how far I'm seating off the lands... And of course, it's with a Weatherby... The godfather of freebore. Am i getting too far into my own head or is this something i need to hash out?
