Ok from what I understand a 338 edge uses a 300ultra mag case correct?

Could a person use with a 300 ultra short mag case and use the 300gr bullets with let's say 28-30" barrel and get about the velocity etc and use a short action??

Or even a 300wsm case?

Just curious since short action etc seem to be more plentiful .

If it would work is there a mag that would feed it and work?

You won't get anywhere near 338 Edge velocities from a short mag. You might get .338 Winchester velocities if you loaded the bullet out in a long action.

The 300 Berger VLD is 1.82 long. That is going to take a large chunk of your mag length and capacity. Not ideal for a short action with what you are trying to achieve.

Ok was just a thought but seems it was not a good one. Guess i'll stick with the edge. Thanks for the input.
