I'm looking for a ballistics chart or info on the 338 lapua for like a 26"-28" barrel. Right now i'm lookin at either the 250gr. or the 300 gr. round, also i'm lookin to squeeze out a 1500yd+ shot so if any one can help that would be great cuz i'm startin to chase my tail!

You need to know your velocity, then plug it in to JBM or another ballistics program. Much better than a premade card.

I really appreciate the input, unfortunatly i'm over in Iraq and in the process of elimination, putting together parts for a new build. The problem is everytime i'm ready to buy, something else catches my eye and opens a new frustrating door.

I guess what i'm asking is, what is going to be best. What barrel length and twist is going to give me the best ballistics for let's say a GA custom rifle chambered in a 338 lapua 250gr or 300gr round.

I agree whole heartedly with Lindy that you should park this thread and go directly to GA.
Whomever builds your rifle should have a heavy say in what your final specs are.
If you aren't happy with anything after the fact, that is the first place you would and should go for answers.
Doing so now, while you are in the planning stage, instead of dictating your choices from an internet forum will help make sure you and your builder are a good match and that both of you are comfortable with a predictable outcome.

Thanks for the input everyone! I got a buddy over here and he's doin the same thing. He talked with GAP and there is an 8 month wait for a custom to be built and shipped right now. I got an itchy trigger finger, not sure if I'm gonna be able to wait that long! jk

I just had George build me another 338 Lapua. The barrel finished at 28 inches and is a 1-9.7 twist bartlein. The good thing is thw AW I have takes the exact same load. I have switched to 250 gr Lapuas and have had great results. The Aw is 26 inces I believe. Im getting around 3000 fps with the loads. My come-ups to 1000 yards is 7.2 mils. as far as which gun,take your pics as they are all good builders and great products. My honest opinion about the 338 is that it really is a useless round unless you have access to 1000+ yards anything inside of 1000 yards is really just a wate of ammo. But who am I to say I have had quite a few of them. I suspect my next one will be from Pierce Engineering.

I used that "radar" / continuous air drag coefficients for trajectory calculations and seem that they are very accurate
