Range Report 338 Lapua shooting steel at 100 yards

Grizz,
I'm gonna really sound like momma hen here, but it's not even smart to shoot that soft of steel with your gun at 100 yards. You don't know where that bullet is going to go, especially with the weight of that 1" steel.
If you can afford that camera setup, you can afford a piece of at least ar400 plate, hung so it's angled downward. The reason I said 400 is because the speed and diameter of the bullet shouldn't pock it like what you have, but get 500 if possible.

I think on the Hide website, not the forum part, LL has a video of a guy shoooting a 50 cal at short distance, watch it.

I shot a piece of AR400, hanging at 100 yds with a .300 wby using a 208 A-max once. Makes a big hole, and keeps on trucking. I don't recommend it. At least that is if you want your steel to last.

I've shot a 162gr from a 7mmSTW through 3/8" AR400 at 200 yards. I thought with the toned down speed it might survive, maybe not.
Makes me wonder why every one around here hail it as a great hunting bullet, I've yet to gut an animal with anything that hard in it to stop this bullet.
