I am planning an elk hunt for 2011. I will be hunting in a very large "Park" on Electric Mountain in CO. I am a handicapped guy so my hunting will be from a fixed position. I will be hunting right out of our camp. We always see one or two legal bulls from camp every year, so I am going to give it a try in 2011. I am wanting to put together a rifle that will allow me to shoot from 600-700 yards. I thought the PSS in 338 LM would be a great choice.
But I have a few questions. I have a PSS in 300 WM. But it does not have a magazine. Is the stock on the 338 PSS the same HS stock as the one on my 300 WM?? The palm swell is very large on my 300 WM. It is a right handed rifle and I shoot it left handed. The large palm swell is a bit uncomfortable. But I deal with it. What type of palm swell does the 338 LM have?? What MB do you guys recommend for the 338?? Any information on the 338 in the PSS would be greatly appreciated. I realize they are hard to find, but I have plenty of time. And I also realize the 300 WM is adequate for the job. But man who needs a reason to buy a new rifle?? Thanks, Tom.
