Just ordered my Brux's barrel in a rem contour 26" 1-10 twist skip fluted. My question is I want to build it in a Ackley improve I know the standard is 40 degree angle. And I know you can go with pretty much with what ever angle you want. Can any one tell me if there is a better angle to go with for the 338 Norma for better accuracy. Thanks for all the help you can give me.

Re: 338 Norma AI Help

Some believe that 37° is the holy grail. I'm VERY happy with the 40° shoulder on my 300 NM. I wouldn't do anything different. The benifit to the AI is reduced brass flow which translates into less trimming. Kind of a moot point since I went lazy and bought a Giraud trimmer. It is also "supposed to" reduce throat errosion. I have no idea if that's true or not...

Re: 338 Norma AI Help

That's the reason i am going with the Ai is less trimming. And little more speed. And yes i know angle of the shoulder has nothing to do with accuracy just mist worded it.

Thanks guy's

Re: 338 Norma AI Help

the bolt slam thing happenes an most triggers if you set em too lite.had it on 3 rifles on purpose
when i set a trigger i test it that way by slamming it as hard as possible several times and ajust the pull harder till its 100% safe
