I have read all the articles on this site about using 338 rum dies, but still am a little foggy.

If I use 338 RUM dies and just neck size, will they work? hey seem to be so much cheaper.

Also, is there a place to get 338edge dies for under a grand? (a little saarcasm)

Re: 338 RUM dies for EDGE???

it is not a smart idea as you can not size the last 90 thou of the case around the web and that is the area you need to size the cases when they start to stick also if you dont resize you will start to wear your lugs on your action and gall them in tile. If you search around on the for sale forum there was a guy selling standard Edge dies. otherwise get a standard 338 ultramag seater as it works perfectly for seating and get a 300 ultramag type S full length sizing die and run a 338 bushing in it. if the neck of the die is to small just open it up slightly while spinning in a lathe run a dremel bit into it to just give it clearence but if you get the correct dies you will be better off.

I guess I don't understand totally, but why can't you have a 338rum FL die and just adjust run it up a little in the press? Wouldn't it still FL size the brass?

I thought I was the only one doing that.

Does it all for about $60.

Geargrinder,
Just ordered the 375rum FL sizer and the 338rum neck sizer and bullet seater. Thanks a lot for the info. It cost $80 with shipping. A lot cheaper than EDGE dies.
