338 snipe tac anyone?

Not really just not didn't know if it was worth building one... brass would be hard to get but bullets wouldn't be. I think it still may fall into that catagory of hard to get kinda stuff like the regular 408 cheytac

I can't find a whole lot that out performs the 338 lapua but is still relatively easy on the wallet to reload for and build... sure the 416 or 408 out performs it... but the cost to shoot it a lot isn't worth it...

The barrel life is going to be on the short side, like 1000-1500 rounds but it's not the type of rifle you'll be shooting all the time anyway. Berger 300 grain HB's going 3400fps would be awesome and also you will be able to see the 2" wide splats on steel easier than if you were shooting solids.

The brass is about equivalent in price (all though it may not last as long) and your shooting the same bullet with the same primers. The only thing that cost more is the powder it uses and the speed at which it consumes barrels. It beats a Lapua by 500+fps. Sure the rifles cost more because of the action requirements but it's not much more if you compare say a TAC338 action to a TAC408 rather than using a Remington or a Savage.

Yeah I'm pretty convinced the 338 lapua is the biggest baddest most cost efficient gun to build... anything more is just dishing out the cash for reloading supplies and parts...
