Perhaps this has already been answered, but what is up with Berger's data with the 300 grain OTM with H1000? They list a max of 85.2 but see some members on here shooting the same combo and 90-92 and higher. Anyway, I stopped at 84.8, no pressure signs, but velocity and groups were pretty awful.

Well lots here like thermonuclear loads, I’ve done it as well.
The other thing is that’s the data on their test rifle and it probably won’t blow anyone’s face off.
In this day and age of people suing others for their mistakes mild data is a safe company policy.

Keep going further if you dare, a big part of reloading is learned knowledge and either learned it or finding it.

I can tell you you are below what my buddy with a 338NM (with less powder capacity than 338 lapua) is running and he Keeps it mild as it’s on a Remington 700 action.

Ya, just the numbers, what I was seeing on the brass (well not seeing) and the posted data just weren't making much sense. I will keep going, as I believe it can be done but won't just jump to what others are shooting. I was expecting to top out near 2700 ft/s (with what I was seeing on the data). Instead, it was more like 2520 (Savage Elite Precision 30" barrel).

😂
That’s slower than my buddy’s 20” 338 NM barrel

When it goes off does it sound like a wet fart?

You should start seeing some happiness around 87-88 depending on brass and barrel.

Was just trying to follow the data, but ya definitely something went wrong. They were still pretty authoritative but explained why when I started shooting factory 300 grain ammo, I immediately felt a difference. I am using Lapua brass and a 215M primer.

Worked up to 89.5gr. Gave me 2,770 ft/s. There’s still more but better than it was

Thank you, I have seen all that, was just curious why the huge difference with the Berger data. I reload for about a dozen other cartridges and never seen a spread like that. I'm just happy to see it start to shoot. Before it was straight up garbage.
