So ya just bought a Premier then?
Good on ya, I'm just sayin'...

To answer your question, I got Seekins Highs (0.97") from Scott for my 5-25. On par with 427's comments, I need to trim the BC front to fit it between my #7 truck axle. So you may want to focus on finding those taller Badgers (1.125") TRIAD mentioned if your barrel contour is beefy...

Re: 34mm rings?

Well, I ordered the 1.0 tall ones earlier. I have a lawton action with a 20moa rail, the top of which is .430" above the action. I'm unsure of my barrel contour. Its relatively heavy. 18" tube that starts out at 1.25 and is .900 at the end.

What do you think? The rail make up for a bit of height?

... and yes, I just bought a premier 5-25.

Re: 34mm rings?

Ok, I just took some measurements. I had some nightforce 1" tall rings around, so I put a leupold LR 5-20x50 30mm tube scope in there and checked for clearance. There was .30" of clearance between the objective and the barrel. The OD of that scope is 58mm.

Triad, tell you what. Send me whatever you think will work. I have an AICS 2.0 so I'm not concerned about cheek weld. I can move it if needed. I don't want to have to cut a notch in my scope cap.

Re: 34mm rings?

I have a Surgeon action with integral 20moa rail. Best I can measure with the scope mounted, the height of the rail where the action and rail appear to 'join' just forward of the bolt handle, I meaured 0.35". So you've got some extra height to work with right from the get go...

Took some pics of the clearance above my fluted #7 Broughton...
Without cap , measured .060"gap with feeler gauge:

With cap jussst barely touching the side of the top flute:

If the barrel were not fluted, the clearance would be even less...
