Honestly that’s price may be a bit High haha I owned 2 Anderson’s down to only one and sadly paid 90 per lower but the quality is nothing to be proud of. I like my Tactical innovations much much better. (These will assemble and fire though)

The problem with those is, that by the time you pay shipping and FFL transfer fees, it might just be cheaper to buy one locally.
These days they seem to be in the $60 range at the local shops.

Probably one aluminum foundry punching out AR shaped ingots and than just like your dishwasher it goes off to various lines stamped Amana (Aero), GE (Anderson), Whirlpool (Colt), etc.

Only difference being how the secondary line has invested in finishing equipment. Are you getting a CAD operated 5 axis or a squirrel on a wheel and a guy with a file?

What specifically is unrefined on them? The Anderson lowers I have fucked with all seemed ok functionally, no terrible machining otherwise that I saw.

If all of mine... I’ve only had 1 issue.

I had a small machining chip stuck in the bolt hold open slot...and the chip prevented a small spot from being anodized......so a small cosmetic issue no one will ever see

For 1/2 the cost of other lowers, I’ll happily take a small blem

Minor machining flaws will not even cause me to bat an eye when we are talking about tools such as guns where function and reliability far exceeds cosmetic value.

If it can handle the tasks and stress that it was built for, and can accurately put rounds down range with each pull of the trigger without me having to wonder if it would FTF in the next second, it is good to go. Historically, there had been guns like the Lefaucheux pinfires, built with "aristocratic class and appearance" in mind, but have not been proven to be reliable in either a street or battlefield environment.
